He entered the Air Force honorably serving and retiring as Chief Master Sergeant (CMSgt) after 30 years. All those that knew him well called him “Chief”. He had a reputation for being a strong leader and one that everyone revered. Whether you knew him as Bill, Chief, or William Claude, you knew a great fun-loving man. Bill spent time at several different Air Force Bases in his career such as Anderson, Minot, McCoy, Hahn Germany, Laughlin, Randolph and lastly Hill Air Force Base.

He enjoyed talking to everyone, from the server at the restaurant to the grocery store clerk. Bill was a flirtatious, captivating and charismatic guy. His southern charm was certainly a part of his character.
He loved ketchup on everything, KFC chicken and fried okra. Also, if the man wanted a Coca Cola you better drop everything you were doing to go get it. Bill was a fighter, and he fought hard at the end of his life. However, he is now resting in peace enjoying his time with his wife, son, parents and all that have gone before him.
