LEANORE MAE DENSLEY
1931 – 2018
It is with both sadness and joy that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister.
Mom was born in the back of the family store in Clarkston, Utah on August 31, 1931 to parents Joseph D. and Grace Adele Fisher Griffin. She was the third oldest of five children.
Mom grew up in the Sugar House area of Salt Lake. She graduated from South High School. Mom was Miss Television Utah in 1947 which earned her a trip to Hollywood. Deciding that wasn’t the life for her, she returned home. Mom met dad at age thirteen and dated him for several years knowing that he was the one. They married on August 7, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple. After a short while, they moved to Bountiful to start and raise their family. Many years later, they moved to southern Utah. While there, mom was Relief Society President of the Leeds Ward—a job she loved.
Her family was her most prized accomplishment. Together mom and dad raised six very individual children: Jeff (Thim), Scott (Patti), Sue (Gary), Bill (Cheryl), Annette (Marty), and John (Gretchen). There are 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren—with a new one to arrive in June.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, just a few months ago. Mom and dad together again.
